Great Sewing Storage Tip!

My Tip

I’ve only recently started sewing and can’t afford half of my materials because I’m a college student…so I am always looking to save money. One cool sewing basket/storage option I’ve found is actually a large picnic basket! They usually have more than one compartment, and can fit plastic organizers inside for haberdashery. There are usually tons of of new and in great condition picnic baskets at local thrift stores! They are pretty, functional and can be quite homey but chic!

Untangle Threads The Easy Way!

I have been sewing for years, but only recently learned about a product called Thread Heaven.  When sewing by hand, you run your thread over the product and it prevents tangling!  You can also use it on your machine by dipping the needle into the product.  I think it is fabulous.  I was able to purchase it at my local fabric store, but it is also available online.

Thanks Suzanne, this is a great tip and I know I will be finding this product as tangled threads, especially when hand sewing is a real pain.
